Backup/Archive File Transfer
Efficiently (Pro version)
|
|
DIY
on-line backup uses two different methods of backup depending on the
locality of the Backup and storage computers. If the backed up files
are being backed up to local or network drive then it simply copies the
files to the designated backup store. If files are to be backup up
to a remote computer then DIY on-line backup compresses the files, and
then uploads the Backup files to the Backup storage computer, via TCP/IP
using 128 encryption. TCP/IP is used to give maximum file transfer
performance.

Backup Status Reports (Pro
version)
|
|
At the end of each backup, the system e-mails a report to up to three recipients,
which from a glance
gives a summary of backup job. The user can then drill down to give
extra information.
|
Backup Software Branding (Pro
version)
|
|
If you provide hardware or software then you can offer a archive/backup
service to your customers. We can allow you to change the brand name
of the software, so to the customer it looks as if it is your Backup
software!
|
File/Folder Recovery
|
|
Option 1 - Use the software to recovery all, or individual files or folders
from backup storage, which could be local or remote.
Option 2
- If large amounts of data are on remote backup storage
computer, then you can simply manually copy files to portable hard disk or
DVD and copy back files. The entire Backup set is replicated to
the remote backup storage computer, any archives (File changes) are in Zip
files.

Files Locks
|
|
DIY
on-line backup handles open files on Windows XP and Windows 2003 files
servers automatically.
|
Initializing Large Backups manually
|
|
When you have a lot of data to backup to a remote Backup store, which would
take a long time to transfer across the internet, it may be worth copying
the data to DVD or portable hard disk first. Then set up the backup,
test, and then copy the data manually to the target backup store. From
then on DIY On-line Backup will only backup changed files.
